Sun-Net Inc (SNC), a company specializing in outage planning and utility operations software, received certification as a Women’s Business Enterprise by the Women’s Business Enterprise National Council (WBENC).

Sun-Net is led by CEO, Helen Hu. Helen co-founded Sun-Net in 2000 after working in the power industry for many years. She started her career in China as a Substation Design engineer, and did her Masters of Electrical Engineering at the University of Minnesota.  Helen held various Engineering positions at EMS vendors and has increasingly grown in responsibility and leadership roles throughout the years and became CEO of Sun-Net in 2009. She has played an integral role in Sun-Net’s growth over the past 20 years, consulting with clients on implementations through best practices, managing a close knit group of engineers, and constantly providing recommendations to help improve products and services, retain customers, and grow organically.

WBENC’s national standard of certification implemented by the Women Business Development Center is a meticulous process including an in-depth review of the business and site inspection. The certification process is designed to confirm the business is at least 51% owned, operated and controlled by a woman or women.
